If the APs were previously joined to another WLC, ou may need to do manually clear the private config on them. You can console in or SSH if you have access and run “clear lwapp private-config” – I hope that’s it! If not, watch the debugs on the WLC and especially on the AP.

Thanks for the guide. I’m able to set up a wireless network, but it only works on VLAN1, and cannot for the life of me get it to work for other VLANs. This was a much simpler endeavor with vWLC.

We’re moving to AC Wave2 and so we’re upgrading to the 9800 software controller.

Is it possible for you to do a VLAN (other than 1) step-by-step setup example?
